One Green Action

About the project

Project Overview

A SeaMentor micro-learning experience that turns maritime environmental awareness into one clear, safety-conscious action at a time.

The Design Challenge

Environmental information can be difficult to apply when it is lengthy or disconnected from everyday routines. One Green Action explores whether short, relevant prompts can make responsible onboard habits easier to understand and remember.

This is the project’s design hypothesis, not a proven fact.

How It Works

  1. Discover

    View one practical environmental action.

  2. Act

Apply it only when safe, authorised, and relevant.

  3. Reflect

Record the action privately on the device.

Simplicity by Design

  • One action at a time

  • Plain language

  • Mobile-first interface

  • No account required

  • No personal-data collection

  • Safety and ship procedures take priority

Research Foundation

The experience is informed by themes explored in The Green Wave: Embracing Renewable Energy in Maritime Shipping by Mustafa Nejem, including environmental responsibility, maritime education, operational efficiency, and sustainable shipping practices.

This book is not described as peer-reviewed research. No regulatory or numerical claims are shown without an explicit source.

Responsible Measurement

Feature usage

How often the experience is opened.

Self-reported activity

Actions a person marks as done, recorded only on their own device.

User feedback

Optional comments a person chooses to share.

Verified environmental outcomes

Measured results confirmed through an independent or documented process.

A recorded action is not proof of emissions reduction, regulatory compliance, or environmental impact.

Evidence

Pilot evidence will be published after testing and validation.

This area is designed for future verified pilot information. No invented numbers or empty public statistics are shown.

Founder

Founded by Mustafa A. Nejem, Master Mariner, maritime executive, author, and advocate for responsible maritime leadership.
